Eco-friendly Diwali

Sir,
I appeal the people to come forward and aware the common masses about celebrating Diwali with a new tinge. The modern style of celebrating Diwali gives rise to various health hazards, such as hearing loss, high blood pressure, sleep disturbances, asthama, headaches, irritability, skin allergies and eye-related problems, respiratory problems and also has many negative effects on the environment. Such as: excessive air pollution, excessive noise, and excessive power consumption. We celebrate Diwali in traditional ways but given these problems, celebrating the festival of Diwali requires some new vision, such as: Every year we paint our homes. But no one pays attention to that garbage dump in the corner. Let us join hands this Diwali to clean the society and to encourage positive atmosphere in neighbourhood. Let us take out sometime this Diwali to meet those elders and kids who have no families. Exchange happiness with inmates of old age homes, Divyang Ashrams and orphanages. We have elders, senior citizens and people sufferings from heart problems, new born babies and our young generation preparing for competitive exams in our society. Here it becomes the obligatory duty to avoid the bursting of crackers, which otherwise brings many fatal injuries also. The money saved on this account can be donated for the cause of the deserving people. Environment pollution is not an ailment that can be cured with these measures overnight. But it is time to take a step towards eco-friendly practices.
