EC completely ‘biased’ against Opposition: Rahul

NEW DELHI: A day after the Election Commission gave clean chit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah over two cases each of allegations of poll code violations, Congress president Rahul Gandhi charged the EC of being ‘completely biased’ against the Opposition parties.

Addressing a press conference here, the Congress president said, ”When it comes to the issues of BJP, the EC is absolutely on the straight line, but when it comes to the Opposition’s issues, it is completely biased.”

The reaction of the Congress president came amid reports that the EC gave clean chit to the PM, despite dissension from one of the Election Commissioners in the “full Election Commission,” headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora.

Terming the action as a direct consequence of pressure on various institutions by the present government, Mr Gandhi said ”So, it is pretty clear that the working of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to build pressure on various institutions. This is visible everywhere, be it the Supreme Court, Planning Commission or the RBI. (AGENCIES)
