Earthquake jolts Valley

Srinagar, Aug 10: A high-intensity earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on Richter scale jolted Kashmir valley this afternoon.
The earthquake occurred at 03:35 am, a Meteorological Department official said, with its epicenter in Hindukush region of Afghanistan.
The earthquake created panic and fear among local populace with people coming out of their residential houses, offices and shops. There was, however, no loss of life and property due to the quake.
Reports of strong quake were also reported from neighbouring Pakistan and in Delhi and Punjab.
