This has reference to the article ‘No major earthquake in Jammu & Kashmir’ DE June 10.
I appreciate the efforts of Mr.Barna that he has at least taken a step to curb the unnecessary anxiety which was created by a report published in various newspapers quoting the research report which claimed that Jammu and Kashmir is at the risk of major earthquake and which is likely to strike anytime. As the article is self informative and explanatory and the experience of Mr. Barna can not be doubted, me being a Civil Engineer myself and worked on various structures in Delhi and Jammu i wont say i am an expert but as far as my limited knowledge on the subject and my publications on earthquakes in various newspapers is concerned I am at least in a position to give my attestation on his article.
Moreover, its important for the Government and people to realize what earthquake was and will be a threat so its important to work on the solutions rather than exaggerate the problem and make unnecessary an atmosphere of fear among the people, because limited knowledge is the cause of anxiety and we cant run away from truth. Fearing the disease wont cure it and opening your umbrella without rain is useless. I request readers to move on in their lives and leave the work of expert on experts, and remember earthquake never kills people its we who are not prepared and major portion of the death is due to heart failure and because of the collapse of building.

Sir,
I appreciate bold initiative of B D Mal Barna against vested interests for horrifying the state subjects especially of Reasi and surrounding districts. Author has published his long working experience in Himalayas and has been successful in removing fear among the masses.
