DySP Udhampur briefs students on cyber frauds, drug abuse

JAMMU, Feb 7: In view of the surge in cyber crime related incidents, Police in Udhampur facilitated an awareness programme at BBSVP Higher Secondary School Udhampur. DySP Headquarters Udhampur Gurmeet Singh, Principal BBSVP, teachers and students, were present on the occasion.
Singh spoke on online cyber frauds carried out by cyber criminals and shared present cyber threats/activities viz Identity theft, Credit card fraud, data stealing, Cyber Stalking, humiliation of girls, spreading pornography etc.
Besides, Police also shared important contact numbers among the participants and requested them that if any time they came in clutches of cybercrime or betrayed by cyber criminals then they should immediately contact within shortest possible time so that their complaint is addressed immediately.
He also highlighted the importance of drug free society and ill effects of this menace on youth and society. He appealed the students to refrain from drug menace, which has eaten the vitals of the society and advised those affected to avail the facility of Drug De-Addiction Centre at DPL Udhampur.
He said that issue of drugs abuse is a challenge before the country and advised the teachers/guardians to pay keen attention towards the behaviour of their children & not to put any psychological pressure upon them which could attract them towards drug menace.
Principal of the BBSVP School expressed his gratitude to the Udhampur Police for their informative and thought-provoking presentation.
