LEH, Dec 13: Sudden death of 5 to 6 yaks in the past two days has created panic among locals in Kharnakling area.
The locals are suspecting it to be outbreak of some serious disease as yaks reportedly have symptoms of breathing problems.
Locals immediately reported the case to Animal Husbandry Department in Leh and team from the department will be visiting Kharnak to find the cause of death.
District Animal Husbandry Department Disease Investigation Office Dr Stanzin Rabgais said that they received the information today and a team headed by laboratory officer has been sent to ascertain the cause of death.
