KATHUA, Oct 18: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that PDP-BJP Coalition Government is keen to provide road connectivity to cover maximum habitations in far off areas for which intake of PMGSY road work has been increased besides vital road links were undertaken to improve connectivity scenario in the State.
He was speaking after laying foundation stone of road from Kandharnoo to Lower Rajwalta at Billawar today.
The roadwork of 7 km Kandharnoo to Lower Rajawalta will be executed with an estimated cost of Rs 7.48 crore by PWD (R&B). The road will benefit over 2000 souls of the area.
Dr Nirmal Singh while addressing the gathering  disclosed that as many as 21 new roads under PMGSY  will be taken up in  Billawar for which Rs. 105 crore will be provisioned.
Later, Dr Nirmal Singh also convened a public grievances redressal camp where he listened to the problems and demands of the people and said that early redressal of problems is the foremost priority of the present Government which is committed to ensure speedy redressal of grievances at door step of people.
After giving a patient hearing to people’s problems, which mainly pertained to drinking water and PDD, the Minister directed the concerned officers to streamline the drinking water supply and urged them to adopt proactive approach in resolving various problems faced by the residents.
Dr Nirmal Singh also highlighted various Central and State Government welfare schemes and directed all the officers to create awareness among the masses so that beneficiaries under various schemes get proper and timely benefits.
