DyCM, Dy Chief of Army Staff, Secy Ramakrishna Mission call on Governor

JAMMU, Jan 30: Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Dr. Singh briefed the Governor about the steps being taken for mitigating sufferings of people caused due to heavy snow fall and rains in the State. He also apprised the Governor about various initiatives being taken in by the departments under his charge, the work so far concluded in the ongoing Assembly Session and the significant initiatives which were planned to be taken by Government in February-April 2017.
Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Planning and Systems) also called on Governor.
The Governor discussed with Lt. Gen. Saha various important issues relating to the indigenisation and making in India of important weapons, equipments and systems, used by the three Defence Services, which are continuing to be imported at very high cost to the country. Gen. Saha informed the Governor about the work so far done in this area of functioning.
Swami Nirantrananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu accompanied by Suresh Kumar Sharma, Member J&K PSC, and H.L. Maini, Member SMVDSB, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Swamiji briefed the Governor about the charitable activities of the Mission which are being carried out in Jammu. The Mission provides health care services and vocational trainings and promotes tribal welfare etc.
He also expressed the Mission’s gratitude to the Governor, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, for providing financial support for establishing the Mission’s infrastructure at Jammu.
