JAMMU, Aug 19: Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of Chhari-Mubarak Swami Amarnathji performed the Chhari Pooja at Dashnami Akhara Srinagar today.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh attended the function which was also attended by scores of devotees who had come to pay their obeisance.
On way to Pahalgam, Pujan would be performed at Sureshwar Temple, Shiv Temple Pampore, Shiv Temple Bijbehara, ‘Martand-Tirth’ Mattan and Ganesh Temple across river Lidder, Ganeshbal.
After night halt at Pahalgam, on way to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnathji, the Chhari Mubarak will have another night halt at Chandanwari, the last motorable station on the traditional route. From Chandanwari it will have another night halt at Sheshnag (3352 Mtrs above sea level) and finally night halt at Panchtarni (4114 mtrs above sea level).
Traditional rituals and prayers will be offered the whole day at holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnathji. Before dusk, Chhari-Mubarak will leave for night halt at Panchtarni and another night halt at Pahalgam.
“Pujan and Visarjan” ceremonies will be performed on the bank of river Lidder. Thereafter, traditional “Kari-Pakouri” Bhandara shall be organised for saints.
With this last ritual, annual pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath shall culminate and Chhari-Mubarak will return to its abode at Srinagar. Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara Trust announced that it has made all the arrangements for Sadhus coming from across the country for annual pilgrimage for their food and comfortable stay at Akhara building.
On the 49th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra 620yatris paid obeisance at the holy cave. Till date, 3, 49, 242 yatris have paid obeisance at holy cave.
