JAMMU, May 31: Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma here today chaired a meeting of Engineering Department of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and reviewed ongoing projects, developmental works and work queued for approval.
She also raised issues being faced by various Councillors due to delay in completion of developmental works and due to low quality work done by the concerned contractor.
The Engineering Department was given strict directions by the Deputy Mayor to make sure the work done by the concerned contractors meets the quality requirements and is completed within a fixed period of time.
The issue of deficiency of staff including Junior Engineers was brought to the notice of the Deputy Mayor by the Engineering Department due to which the current working officials including Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineer and office staff are over burdened thereby leading the efficiency of work to suffer.
Purnima Sharma assured to discuss the matter with Commissioner JMC so that problem of staff deficiency can be solved without any delay.
She encouraged the Engineering Department of JMC to work in co-operation with Councillors for the development of Jammu as a whole.
Joint Commissioner Works, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers of Engineering Department were also present on the occasion.
