JAMMU, Mar 19:The Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today chaired a high-level committee to review fee structure in private schools of the State.
Mr Chand issued directions for constitution of a high-level committee under the Chairmanship of a retired Judge of High Court to be nominated by the Chief Justice, J&K High Court for reviewing and fixing the fee structure for private schools.
“The Committee will also examine whether the private schools are charging any capitation fee and whether these institutions are indulging in profiteering,” Mr Chand told the meeting and directed for sending the panel to the Chief Justice of J&K High Court for nominating Chairman of this Committee.
He also directed the Secretary, School Education Department to constitute a committee comprising of prominent educationalists representing different sections and regions for framing an inclusive and effective education policy for the State.
Besides, he also directed for framing a transfer policy for regulating transfers and postings in the School Education Department, taking into consideration the topographical and climatic factors and period spent by officials in challenging locations.
The meeting also decided to take up the matter with Public Service Commission and Services Selection Board for fast tracking recruitment process as about 20,000 posts of different categories are lying vacant in the Department. (AGENCIES)
