JAMMU, July 17: Durga Nagar Welfare Committees, president, Roshan Lal Raina, Sanjay Ganjoo ,M K Raina, Bihari Lal Raina and other members invited the attention of Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti requesting him to issue directives to the Chief Engineer ,Jal Shakti Jammu to visit Durga Nagar Tube well which is non functional for various months and also visit Muthi Gaoun tube well Mu9 along with concerned engineers to settle the water scarcity problem of Durga Nagar and Dogra Nagar faced by the residents of these localities for last two months .
They said electricity problem of Mu9 has become one of the great issues of hampering the water supply to Durga Nagar OHT. Another cause of water scarcity is non-functional tube well of Durga Nagar, they added.
They said power curtailment has been one of the main cause of hampering water supply to the area and the concerned Department needs to ensure round the clock power supply.
Principal Secretary was also requested to look into the matter seriously and save the people and ensure that the essential service during intense hot days don’t hampered. Also a meeting may be held on this serious issue and a permanent solution to the problem be found.
The president of the Committee in an appeal to vice chairman JDA urged him to issue the letter for 10 Marlas of land for Durga Nagar tube well and 0HT so that PHE Department would take action on it immediately.
