Durga Nagar residents’ delegation calls on CS

JAMMU, Feb 28: A delegation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by its president Roshan Lal Raina and M L Pandita called on Chief Secretary Iqbal Khandey today and apprised him of their problems.
The delegation demanded 250 kv transformer for the area, augmentation of two 250 kv transformers into 400 kv to cater to the increasing load, , release of ration for newly APL cards, opening of J&K Bank branch in Durga Nagar, hike in cash relief to Rs 10,000 per month, ensuring proper water and power supply on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, maintaining proper check on rates, release of relief arrears along with relief of February before holy festival, allotment of land for migrant Higher Secondary School at Durga Nagar, settlement of mediclaim cases, payment of rent for land and buildings of migrants occupied by security forces, and removal of encroachment.
The Chief Secretary assured the delegation that the demands will be looked into.
Other members of the delegation were Badri Nath Radhoo, R K Raina and Triloki Nath Tickoo.
