JAMMU, June 15: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by Roshan Lal Raina its president called on Chief Engineer, PHE and Executive Engineer Mechanical PHE and demanded installation of stabilizer and other material in the sump for making it properly functional.
In a handout issued here, today Raina said that the concerned officers gave immediate orders for issuing material for running the sump which will start functioning with two to three days. This will also reduce the gap in water supply in the area, he added.
He said a J&K Bank Branch was also established in Durga Nagar and the deputation also met AEE EM&RE Janipur and demanded orders be issued that electricity charges of Sector 1, 2, and 3 Durga Nagar and Chinore area be collected in the same bank branch.
The deputation later met AEE PHE Muthi and demanded plugging of leakages.
The Committee has demanded augmentation of 250 kv transformer to 400 kv transformer in the area. It also urged the JMC and R&B Departments to get lanes and roads in the area blacktopped.
The deputation comprises of C L Zutshi, Badri Nath, Bansi Lal, Nana Ji Razdhan, Bitu Ji, Mohan Lal Pandita, Bushan Lal Pandita and A K Bazaz.
