Durga Nagar Committee demands proper supply of water, power on Mahashivratri

JAMMU, Feb 22: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) in its meeting today held under the chairmanship of its president, Roshan Lal Raina has urged the authorities to ensure water and power supply in the area during the Maha Shivratri festival falling on March 4 and 5.
The meeting, which among others was attended by Behari Lal, C L Zuthsi, Bansi Lal, Badri Nath and Nana Ji Razdan made a strong plea to chief engineers of PHE and PDD, M&RE in this regard.
The meeting also made a strong plea to Governor, Satya Pal Malik to provide advance relief and ration to migrant relief holders so that they should not face any problem in celebrating the festival. It urged the Relief Commissioner , M L Raina to issue instructions to concerned for opening of stalls selling walnuts, vegetable, fruit, flowers etc at Durga Nagar on the occasion of holy festival in this densely populated area. He demanded that these commodities be made available on concessional rates. Besides, CE PHE was also urged to keep water tankers available in the area during the festival days.
