JAMM, Dec 2: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee delegation led by Roshan Lal Raina called on Secretary Relief and Disaster Management, P K Pole and Commissioner cum Secretary R&B here today and apprised them of the problems being faced by the people in the area.
During their meeting with Secretary Relief the delegation demanded release of sugar quota to migrants which has not been issued for last three months. It appealed Secretary Relief to visit migrant camps and non camp localities to ascertain the problems of displaced people living there.
During its meeting with Commissioner cum Secretary R&B, the delegation demanded issuance of funds for construction of drains, lanes and macadamization of roads in the area. The Commissioner assured the delegation that their problems will be settled.
The Committee also made a plea to Chief Engineer, PHE for replacing the pipes in Kachhi Gali, Khatri Mohalla and in the matador stand area besides plucking of leakages in Kailashpati Mohalla. It also appealed VC JDA to provide 10 marlas of land for construction of OHT for tube well so that water scarcity problem is solved in Durga Nagar.
