JAMMU, July 21: All J&K HYVA Dumpers Owners Association has said that the construction agencies are hiring HYVA dumpers from outside J&K, which should be banned as it is against Motor Vehicle Act.
Addressing a press conference, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, President of All J&K HYVA Dumpers Owners Association said that the construction companies especially NH-1A Chenani-Nashri Tunnel and allied agencies are exploiting the owners of the dumpers by hiring the same from outside the State.
He said that the companies resort to illegal means by hiring dumpers belonging to outside State and also encouraging overloading of the vehicle.
Khalsa added that the preference should be given to the J&K State transporters for transportation of goods/stores to obtain employment to the locals.
“Overloading should be totally banned and loading should be done as per Motor Vehicle Act”, he said, adding that the association will approach Motor Vehicle and Police Departments for compliance of MV rules.
Prabhjot Singh Soni, general secretary of the association was also present during the press conference.
