Dulloo reviews implementation of EWS reservation in Medical College admissions

SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today reviewed the implementation of reservation of 10 percent seats in the Medical and Dental Colleges of the State for the academic year 2019-20 in respect of Economically Weaker Sections of Society.
Dulloo directed the officials of Social Welfare Department to complete the necessary formalities required for issuance of EWS Certificates upto 5th November.
Special Secretary, Department of Law, Justice, Manoj Pandita, Director Co-ordination, New GMCs Dr.Yashpal, Chairman, J&K, Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE) Muhammad Ashraf Bukhari, besides officers of Social Welfare Department, General Administration Department, ARI& Trainings Department also attended the meeting.
The officials informed the meeting that Social Welfare Department has already notified amendments in the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules, 2005 for giving effect to 10 percent reservation for EWS aspirants.
It was also informed that the date of counselling for filling up of MBBS seats in the State under 10 percent EWS quota has been extended upto 30th November, 2019.
