JAMMU, Apr 15: Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, J&K, Atal Dulloo today directed the Drug Controller to monitor the drugs availability scenario by maintaining close coordination with Health authorities.
Expressing satisfaction with the performance of the Department, the Financial Commissioner instructed that all other vital components of Health care viz; Blood Banking and supportive medical oxygen availability should also be monitored regularly in addition to routine business.
The Drug Controller, Lotika Khajuria, assured the Financial Commissioner that the Department shall work hard to come up to the expectations of general public in view of the current situation which is posing some challenge to the Government machinery. The FC was informed that the Union Territory has got sufficient stocks of essential medicines available with the vendors situated locally.
Earlier, the Drug Controller handed over consignment of 50,000 tablets of Hydroxy Chloroquine donated by M/s Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Bari Brahmana, Jammu and 10,000 pieces of sanitizers manufactured by Dabur India Limited to the FC. The Resident Director Emcure, Satish Koul and Plant Head, Dabur India Limited Sardar Gurmeet Singh were present on the occasion.
