JAMMU, Aug 25: Dogra Sadar Sabha, Congress and Jammu Tawi Andolan have condoled the demise of former Union Minister Arun Jaitley.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) held a meeting of its executive body to condole the demise of one among the tallest of the national leaders Arun Jatley.
Calling him a great reformer, an efficient minister and Jammu’s son-in-law, Gulchain Singh Charak recalled that every meeting with Jaitley was so satisfying and was followed by prompt action from his side. He was a great visionary, reformer and a forward looking activist and nation builder.
All members of the executive committee held two minutes silence in honour of the departed soul.
This gap may never be filled, said Charak while praying peace for the departed soul and courage to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Vikramaditya Singh, former MLC and Congress leader has expressed grief over the sad and untimely demise of former Union Minister Arun Jaitley.
He said Jaitley would be remembered for his contribution as the Minister of Finance, Defence, Information and Broadcasting and also as the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha to the nation.
“We have lost an astute parliamentarian, avid reader and a compassionate leader. I extend my heartfelt condolence to his family members. May his soul rest in peace”, Vikramaditya Singh said in his condolence message issued here today.
He prayed to the God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family in its hour of grief.
Chander Mohan Sharma, Convener of Jammu Tawi Andolan described the death of Arun Jaitley as national loss. Sharma said that the Jaitley was a national asset, who served the nation with his unparallel talents, wisdom and farsightedness. He further said that Jaitely being one of the tallest national leaders, was friend of all, particularly party leaders from Jammu had special privilege of meeting with his friendly.
Others, who paid tributes include Prof BL Bhardwaj, Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Govind Sareen, Balwinder Singh, Neena Bakshi, Raj Kumar, Ramesh Gupta and Ram Prashad.
