Drugs trafficker arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Nov 9: Gangyal and Greater Kailash police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drugs trafficker along with 60 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Police Station Gangyal and Police Post Greater Kailash laid a naka at Forest Chowk and signaled an alto car bearing registration number CH03W-0475 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the car after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 60 grams of heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Inderjeet Singh, son of Raj Kumar, a resident of Rakh Arnia, at present Kotli Morh Bari Brahmana.
During preliminary questioning, the driver disclosed that he had brought the consignment from New Delhi for selling among the youth and ruining the society in and around Jammu city.
A case under FIR Number 87/18 under section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali and accompanied by Incharge Police Post Greater Kailash SI Vicky Thapa made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
