POONCH, June 6: In a major crackdown on drug- trafficking, the police today attached a residential property worth over Rs 1.5 crore under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan.
The action was carried out on the directions of SSP Poonch, Shafqat Hussain Bhat.
The attachment proceedings were conducted by DySP Surankote, Surinder Singh, SHO Surankote Abid Bukhari, and Naib Tehsildar Rajinder Kumar at village Samote in Surankote.
The attached property comprises a residential house situated under Khasra No. 871 and is owned and occupied by Bashira Bi, wife of Mohd Rashid. The property was attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 109/2025 registered at Police Station Surankote under Sections 8, 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act.
Police officials also affixed an official attachment notice on the property, declaring that it is under legal attachment. As per the notice, no individual can purchase, sell, lease, transfer, or create any third-party interest in the property without prior approval from the competent authority.
DySP Surinder Singh said that the action is part of a broader strategy to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and target assets acquired through proceeds of the illegal narcotics trade.
