UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: In continuation of its drive against narcotics trafficking, Udhampur Police attached movable properties worth approximately Rs 13.8 lakhs belonging to drug peddlers in two separate cases under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
Honda City car (Regd. No. JK11G-9286) worth Rs 12 lakhs belonging to Rafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Karim of Gujjar Colony, Sainik Colony, t Jammu has been attached in connection with FIR No. 49/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal. During investigation, it was established that the said vehicle had been acquired from the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
In another case, two mobile phones (OnePlus 6T and iPhone 13 Pro Max) worth Rs 1.8 lakhs belonging to Mehraj-ul-Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmed Malik of Ushkara, Baramulla and Mohd Ganie of Tirkanjan, Baramulla, have also been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 37/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police arrested a drug peddler at Tikri and recovered 2.5 grams of heroin from his possession. He has been identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar of Chiryai Dhanu, District Udhampur.
