JAMMU, Jan 3: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 1 kilogram of bhukki from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka near Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a person coming from Bari Brahmana towards Satwari and carrying white polythene bag.
On seeing police cops, the person tried to escape, but was chased and intercepted.
During checking, police recovered one kilogram of bhukki from the white polythene bag and arrested the person.
The accused has been identified as Kala Ram, son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Maal, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 1/17 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the drug peddler at police station Gangyal and investigation started to ascertain the destination of this consignment.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
