Drug- peddler nabbed with 1.120 kg charas

RAJOURI, Apr 29: The police today achieved a major success when it apprehended a notorious drug- smuggler and recovered huge quantity of contraband material (Charas) from his possession.
During patrolling, a police party stopped a person for checking who was walking on-foot in Kathanu area of Sunderbani. He was carrying a bag on his shoulder and was asked to show his identity-card which he failed to do. He was further asked to get his bag checked on which he started behaving suspiciously.
On checking his bag, 80 Chhallies (Pieces) weighing 1.120 Kg of charas were recovered from his possession.
On questioning, he disclosed his identity as Mohd Ashfaq @ Shafaq, son of Dilpazir, a resident of village Galhuti in Tehsil Manjakote, district Rajouri. He was immediately arrested and contraband seized on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 28/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Sunderbani.
Police team led by PSI Sunil Raskotra made the arrest/recovery under the guidance of Insp Deepak Pathania SHO Sunderbani and under the supervision of Tussif Rishu DDPO Nowshera.
