KATHUA, June 27: A drug peddler was arrested with over 10 grams of heroin-like-substance from Billawar area here today.
Acting on credible information, one Aslam Ahmed of Lakhri, tehsil Billawar, was arrested with 10.04 grams of contraband from Dharmkot area, a police official said.
According to him, the accused was arrested when he was allegedly making an attempt to sell the narcotics among the local population.
Accordingly, the police official said that the accused was booked in case FIR number 102/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Billawar.
He said a vehicle (JK02AC-1086) used in transportation of the drugs by the accused was also seized and further investigation has been taken up.
The arrest and seizure was made by a team of Police Station Billawar led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, under the guidance of SP Operations Upper Kathua, Aumer Iqbal and overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena.
