JAMMU, Feb 5: Police here today claimed they have arrested a drug peddler from RS Pura area and recovered 6.78 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
During routine patrolling, a team of RS Pura Police Station, supervised by SHO concern, Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, under the overall supervision of SP Headquarters, IH Rather, established a naka at Chohala and stopped a Scooty (JK02CM-1980) for checking, a police official said.
On search of the individual driving the scooty, later identified as Vishal Kumar of Sidher, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu, he said, 6.78 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, the biker was arrested and booked in case FIR number 28/2026 under sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura, with further investigation set into motion, added the police official.
