UDHAMPUR, Jan 16: The police arrested a drug-peddler and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession near Roun Domail on Dhar Road here.
An official spokesman said that during a Naka at Roun Domail, a police party intercepted a person coming from Manwal towards Udhampur for checking. During questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Tariq Saleem, son of Ghulam Nabi, of Nagam, Tehsil and District Ramban, at present Bharat Nagar, Udhampur.
During his frisking nearly 5 gms of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 14/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur, and investigation into the matter has been taken up.
