Drug peddler held with heroin

SAMBA, July 6: Ghagwal police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered six grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
A police party of Police Station, Ghagwal headed by Inspector, Susheel Kumar, SHO, Ghagwal under the supervision of Faisel Qureshi, Additional SP Samba while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Y Junction, Rajpura-Malani road, Ghagwal intercepted a motorcyclist who tried to escape on seeing police party.
But alert cops swiftly apprehended him and during his frisking six grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
He has been identified as Teg Ali, S/o Sheru Din of Malani, Ghagwal. He was arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 63/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that district police Samba has launched a vigorous drive against the drug smugglers under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
