JAMMU, Mar 11: The police arrested a drug- peddler and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession from Gharota area today.
Reports said a police party from Gharota under the supervision of SHO, KM Khajuria, during patrolling in Jandial Thathi area saw a person trying to evade police. On enquiry, he revealed him name as Vishal Sharma, son of Som Nath, resident of Jandial Thathi, Tehsil Bhalwal. During frisking approximately 5 grams heroin (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of accused.
A case FIR No. 22/2022 U/Sec. 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Gharota against him. During investigation, it cane to fore that he used to lure youth of Akhnoor and Gharota area for consumption of drugs. Further enquiry in the matter was in progress.
