POONCH, June 12: The police nabbed a drug -peddler and recovered 8.5 kg poppy straw (Bukki) from his possession from Poonch town today.
A police spokesman said that acting on the basis of some inputs, a police party led by DSP headquarters, Poonch laid a naka in the town here and intercepted one person carrying a big vegetables bag. During frisking the man tried to give slip to the police. The alert cops over powered him and recovered 8.5 kg Bukki from his bag hidden under the vegetables. He was arrested and booked under NDPS Act. The accused was indentified as Tariq, son of Talib Hussain, resident of Banpeth in Poonch.
