SRINAGAR, May 20: Continuing its “war against drugs”, Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 18 grams of brown sugar from his possession in Kulgam district today.
A Police spokesman said that a police party of Kulgam headed by SHO Qazigund, Tanveer Ahmad laid a naka near Upper Bazar Qazigund and during checking, a suspected person, identified as Shahzad Ahmad Padder alias Shahlal, a resident of Malwan Devsar was intercepted. 18 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession.
A case with FIR No. 121/2018 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Qazigund. More arrests and recoveries are expected shortly, the police said.
