SRINAGAR, Mar 17: Police today arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered a psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police party led by SHO PS Behibagh at a checkpoint established at Parigam intercepted a suspicious person.
“During the search, 13 Codeine Phosphate bottles concealed in a bag were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Javid Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat resident of Arwani. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 22/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Behibagh and an investigation has been taken up.
