Srinagar, Sept 6: Police today said that it arrested a drug peddler and recovered six kilograms of poppy straw from his possession in southern Kulgam district.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information, police apprehended a drug peddler near Driayan crossing in Qazigund area of Kulgam district. “Six kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from his possession which he was carrying in a bag,” the spokesman said.
He said that a case under FIR number 233/2017 under Section 8/15 NDPS was registered in police station Qazigund and investigation was taken up.
