JAMMU, Oct 14: Peer Mitha Police arrested a drug peddler along with large quantity of intoxicant capsules.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Ajaz Haider laid a naka and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but was intercepted by the cops after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 300 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested accused was identified as Mohammad Riaz, a resident of Gujjar Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 53/2021 under Section 8/20/21/22 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
