JAMMU, June 13: Janipur Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 55 grams of heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Ajaz Haider laid a naka near a bridge in Lower Roop Nagar and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but the cops chased him after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 55 grams of heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Raj Mohd, son of late Mohd Shafi of Belicharana District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 64/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
