JAMMU, July 29: Nagrota and Sidhra police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Nagrota Police Station and Sidhra Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 2.5 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Fazal Hussain aliad Fayaz, son of Rashid Ahmed, a resident of Sidhra.
A case under FIR Number 181/18 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by Incharge Sidhra Police Post SI Shariq Bhat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
