Drug peddler arrested with cannabis

JAMMU, June 17: City Police arrested a drug peddler along with cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station City laid a naka at Vivekanand Chowk and asked a pedestrian coming from Chand Nagar towards Raghunath Bazaar to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape, but was chased and intercepted by the cops.
During checking, police team recovered around 30 grams of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Aadil, son of Mustaq Ahmed, a resident of Sub District Bhaderwah Distric Doda.
A case under FIR Number 40/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Deepak Katoch made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City North Sharad Kalu, SP City North Mohita Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
