UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Police arrested a drug peddler in Tikri area and recovered 6.19 grams of heroin from his possession, here today.
Police team of PP Tikri, while performing daily routine checking, intercepted an electric auto bearing registration number JK14K-6853, which was coming from Jammu side towards Udhampur.
On personal search of the driver, identified as Naveel Akram, son of Akram Mir, resident of Dhanoo, Udhampur, 6.19 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Following this, Police arrested the driver and seized the recovered heroin as well as the auto.
In this regard, case FIR number 146/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and investigation has been taken up.
