Drug peddler arrested with heroin, Rs 3.08 lakh cash

JAMMU, Dec 24: The sleuths of SOG Jammu and Bahu Fort Police Station arrested a drug peddler and recovered 45 grams heroin and Rs 3.08 lakh cash from his possession.
According to SP South Sandeep Choudhary, on specific information, a team from Bahu Fort apprehended a drug peddler along with 45 grams of heroin, 4 syringes, foil paper, 1 small weighing machine and Rs 3.08 lakh cash.
The arrested person has been identified as Wajahat Ali, son of Mohammad Abdullah, a resident of Phagla, tehsil Surankote, district Poonch, at present Bhatindi.
SP informed that a case under FIR Number 301/17 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
The entire operation was led by SOG Jammu, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Parvez Sajjad.
SP added that the concerned individual used to allegedly procure drugs and supply the same in Jammu. Further investigation is being conducted to pinpoint his contact persons in Jammu through whom he used to get the drugs peddled to youth in Jammu.
Choudhary was of the opinion that the accused arrested had been involved in drug dealing for quite some time. Proper technical analysis played a great role in apprehending him, he added.
