JAMMU, Nov 10: Akhnoor police today arrested a drug peddler along with 1.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar laid a naka and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 1.5 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Layaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Ghandarwan, Tehsil Akhnoor.
A case FIR Number 284/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
