SAMBA, Nov 17: Samba police today recovered 7.50 kg of Poppy Straw and arrested a drug peddler.
According to the report, a police party of Police Post, Mansar headed by Sub Inspector, Sandeep Chib while performing vehicle checking duty near Bindu Para, Mansar, intercepted a tractor without registration Number which was moving towards Samba via Udhampur-Mansar road.
During checking of the tractor, a total 7.50 kg of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) was recovered from the trolley of tractor. The accused person identified as driver Jagsir Singh, S/o Sinder Singh R/O Sehjra-Barnala, Punjab has been arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 311/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and further investigation started.
