Drug conduit arrested with heroin, another escapes

KISHTWAR, Dec 16: Kishtwar police arrested a drug conduit and recovered 800 grams heroin from his possession, while his associate managed to escape from the spot.
As per police spokesman, on specific information that two persons are in possession of a consignment of heroin and are planning to take it towards Thathri area for selling it to some other drug peddlers, teams from Police Station Kishtwar and Police Post Jawalapur raised checking points on Bonjwah road.
During checking at Shark Morh Bonjwah naka, police intercepted two persons. During frisking, 800 grams of heroin was recovered from one of the person, who has been taken into custody, while another person managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested person has been identified as Aijaz Keen, son of Shabir Keen, a resident of Patnazi Bonjwah, while the person, who escaped has been identified as Lal Hussain, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Patrorre Bonjwah.
A case under FIR Number 263/17 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act against the duo has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and hunt has been launched to arrest the absconding accused.
The arrest and recovery were made by police parties led by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani and SI Achal Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan and SSP Abrar Chowdhary.
