JAMMU, July 4: Police today zeroed in on the suspicious drone, which was found flying over the district jail and had fallen down in Kishtwar district.
“On Wednesday evening, a camera-fitted drone was found in District Jail Kishtwar and sensing the breach to the security, the District Police Kishtwar immediately lodged an FIR and took up investigations”, SSP Kishtwar Shakti Pathak and Additional SP Nassir Khan told the reporters.
The drone was later seized, he added.
During the course of investigation, one Shoib Ahmed Malik of Umar Mohalla, Kishtwar, along with Moin Ahmed Malik, resident of Sangrambhatta and Govind Sharma, approached the police and claimed the ownership of the flying object, Pathak said.
He further apprised the police that the camera-fitted drone was brought online for shooting the coming marriage of his sister.
“Shoib was giving a trial of the flying object with Wi-Fi connectivity from Chowgan Ground Kishtwar, which went beyond their control because of technical or handling error and randomly flied towards the north of the town,” Pathak added.
