Driver killed, 2 passengers hurt as auto rolls down into gorge

UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: An auto rickshaw driver died and two female passengers on board were injured when the three-wheeler rolled down into deep gorge at Sankri Meer in Panchari, here today.
According to the reports, the passengers auto bearing registration number JK14K-6827, was on its way from Panchari towards Sankri Meer, when it rolled down around 1500 feet deep from the link road.
The auto driver, identified as Ashok Singh, son of Choudhary, resident of Meer Sankri, Tehsil Panchari, reportedly died on the spot. The injured passengers, namely Bimbla Devi, wife of Dewan Singh and Geeta Devi, wife of Girdhari Lal, both residents of Ladha, Tehsil Chenani, were shifted to PHC Panchari where Doctors referred them to District Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment.
