RAMBAN, Apr 10: A driver was killed, while a woman got injured in accidents, here today.
As per police sources, a truck bearing registration number JK03D-9471 was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into Khooni Nallah, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to District Hospital Ramban.
After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased identified as Abdul Rashid Ganie (52), son of Abdul Rehman Ganie, a resident of Bulbul Noegam, Srinagar has been handed over to family members for last rites.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian woman was injured after being hit by a Tata Mobile vehicle near Nagbal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
The woman identified as Naseema Begum (35), wife of Abdul Latief, a resident of Chapnari was shifted to SDH Banihal, where she was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Ramban and Banihal Police Stations and investigation started.
