UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: Police arrested a driver and recovered 4 kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki) from his possession.
As per police reports, police team from Udhampur police station laid a naka and intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AD-5870.
During checking, police recovered 4 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Rinku, son of Nak Ram, a resident of Salian Talab, district Udhampur.
A case under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Udhampur and investigation started.
