Driver arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, Dec 16: Nagrota police nabbed a driver and rescued 8 bovine animals.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02BK-0164, which is on its way from Jammu to Srinagar.
During checking, police rescued 8 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Junaid, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Maitra, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 232/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered against the accused driver at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Suhail Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Amit Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
