Driver arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley

RAMBAN, Dec 3: Police today arrested a truck driver for smuggling 11 bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Ramban police station laid a naka near Shan Palace and signalled a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02S-5637 for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Khursheed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rasheed of Noorkha Uri.
A case under FIR Number 133/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigations started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Vinod Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Moham-mad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
