JAMMU, Mar 6: The maiden meeting of the Advisory Committee constituted by the J&K Dharmarth Trust in consultation with the council members having being approved by the Chairman Trustee, Dr Karan Singh, was held at Amar Singh Club, here today.
On the occasion, Dr Vishwa Murti Sharma, former Principal Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya and renowned Sanskrit Scholar were unanimously nominated as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee.
The newly appointed members of the Committee who marked their presence included Dr Shiv Raina, Maj Gen (Retd) S K Sharma, Surinder Mahajan, Prof Veena Gupta, CA Joginder Singh, Praveen Sharma, Anmol Rattan Sethi, Vijay Saraf, Shailendra Aima, Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Pawan Shastri, Bharat Choudhary, Sanjeev Prabhakar, Satpal Sharma, Anil Sharma, Siddharth Sharma, Sandeep Kumar and M.L Mehra were felicitated by Ajay Gandotra, Advocate, President J&K Dharmarth Trust. Suresh Sharma, Retd District Judge, also attended the proceedings as a special invitee and he too was felicitated by the President.
The Chairman, in his presidential address, vehemently requested the civil and police administration to ensure no obstruction is caused by a small group of striking employees of the Trust who are believed to be acting on the behest of disgruntled elements.
Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma in clear terms informed the members of the Committee that most of the employees of the Trust have given in writing that they never ever remained on strike and it is only a small segment who are disturbing the functioning of the Trust. The appeal was again reiterated to the striking employees to come for unconditional talks if they intend resolution of grievances to be redressed at the level of management.
The proceedings of the meeting were concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Varinder Jamwal, Additional Secretary of the Trust.
